Great big dry bag! for dry bags

I'm driving often canoe. So far I've packed all my gear into a couple of small stuff sacks. This method has worked for many people for a long time, including me. The biggest downside to using lots of small dry bags is that you end up with a bunch of small dry bags. You need to find a way to organize them all in your boat and then figure out how to secure them all in case you capsize. In addition, it is inconvenient to carry many small bags along the portages. I have taken this large packsack with me several times and I am very satisfied. It solves the above problems pretty well. It's easy to store and secure, and the backpack-style straps make portability easy. I only have a couple of requests/complaints: 1. I would like a waist belt. It's a big backpack and if you have all your gear in it, it can be quite heavy. Adding a waist belt would make it more comfortable to wear.2. It would be nice if the outside pocket was waterproof or at least waterproof. It's made from the same PVC as the bag, but the lid is just a flap that snaps onto the top of the open compartment. Water gets in pretty easily. I've just made it a rule to put everything I keep in my bag in ziplock bags. Problem solved.3. Closing the main compartment with a flap lid would have been nice if it had some sort of extra straps or buckles to secure it. It would be nice if you could add clips on the sides or a strap on top. With all that being said, I'm digging the bag. There will be enough equipment (tent, sleeping bags, mats, food etc.) for two people for several days. Very beautiful. Highly recommended.
