Not that bad. for surge protector

Priced as a 'spacious' box for storing cords, with a hole big enough to push 'excess' cords back into the wall. Price is a big factor because you can get less "space" and less utility for twice the money. In the meantime I've installed a lot of these things and they are fairly forgiving of "approximate" hole cutouts and are easy to align, clean and live with if you've done everything right. However, the quality is lower than desired and there are too many "moving parts". These are tiny screws to hold the electrical box on the back. Pooh. Seriously, do your best to install and test this box before stepping on the stairs. You'll be able to overcome any obstacles along the way, parts or tools are less likely to fall, and you'll have a better idea of what to do to avoid meltdowns after you get up. in the air. Do yourself a favor and buy a better socket - this one has no options and has the hated "childproof" flap on the plug - this isn't what you need for young children anyway. And yes, a big hole for cords is fine, but use styrofoam or something else to fill the hole. Sound, drafts, bugs - everyone loves a big hole. When pre-assembling pay attention to the best orientation of the box in relation to your studs which can affect the box's "fitting" into the wall, how (all) the wires go to the box and how to "lean" out of the TV and so on. The quality could be better, but for the price, with a little thought and know-how, you can get very good results.

Pros
  • extension cord and surge protector
Cons
  • boring packaging
