Good Product: Power Strips and Surge Protectors

This thing is very reliable, affordable and easy to install. Because of this, I became a fan of data transfer solutions. Highly recommended. Be sure to consider the dimensions of this solution as it can be a bit large and difficult to hide if your TV is smaller than 47 inches.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great but. for surge protector

I bought this to install behind TVs and hide cables. I would buy it again. Pros: It was very easy to install and works as advertised. Disadvantages: The included socket does not have the typical wiring screws of other sockets, but small holes. My house has new Romex 12/3 cables installed and the cables don't fit in the holes. I couldn't use the outlet. Luckily I have a lot of standard decal rosettes laying around and I was able to easily replace them with one that worked.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

The product is really good and easy to install

Works great, just what I wanted. I've never had wired outlets, but after some research I was able to add one behind the TV and another in the pantry. It comes with a socket and a box for the cables. You cut a hole (a template is included) and then stick it in the hole, it has clips that can be tightened to hold it to a drywall It only has push wire connectors for white and hot. 4 holes each. Ground is a green screw on the side. I was able to easily add from an existing outlet and then add a…

Perfect fit, easy installation

This is what I need - socket and passage, in white. It looked like it would work and didn't require a bolt mount (which was - and always will be - a problem as the socket is slanted). I measured (twice) and cut a hole. I put the plate against the wall. I reattached the brackets (first I had to loosen the screw a bit - that took 10 seconds) and then tightened. Perfect! The plate and box are made of plastic, but strong enough to withstand some pressure and impact. The outlet is powered from the…

Solid product. for extension cords and surge protector

I just installed two of these wall panels on 01/30/16. Very happy with how the installation went, the only thing that surprised me was the 14 gauge cable. I'm not sure if I missed it in the description or not but I was surprised. Both plates had metal wings and ran very smoothly. The sockets themselves have these protective inserts that require a lot of pressure to get the plug into the socket. Regarding the dimensions, I made a 7" x 7" square and then further trimmed the drywall if needed…

  • Very expensive

Ideal for wall mounted TVs.

Ideal for mounting behind a wall mounted TV. You will need to cut a 7-1/8" x 7-1/4" hole in the wall. This allows you easy access to stick your hand in the wall to pull out the wires. Please note that the device is not attached to any bolts. In fact, the left side of the device should be about 3 inches to the right of the stud (see image). This is because the AC electrical box is protruding from behind the wall to the left of the unit. The AC outlet is a regular outlet, this model does not have

Things to look out for

Works as advertised but there are a few things to note. Firstly, if you have an old house that measures 2" x 3" instead of 2" x 4", this won't work unless you change the panel, which will be difficult given the density of the plastic, or you need free access to the back. In my case, my laundry/boiler room is behind the wall my TV is mounted on, so it didn't really matter. Be sure to install the TV before cutting a hole for the device. First I cut a hole and tried to screw a bracket to it that…

Amazingly clean installation Plate

Let me first say that there are some misconceptions about this plate based on the "helpful" reviews that were older: - The mounting lugs are now metal and larger, not plastic - The panel itself is made of very strong plastic and doesn't look cheap - You can mount it on an outside wall with insulation, just takes a little work - No problems with crosstalk from low and high frequency voltage cables with standard shielded cable (run in parallel ). I used it for a wall mounted TV and it worked…

Not that bad. for surge protector

Priced as a 'spacious' box for storing cords, with a hole big enough to push 'excess' cords back into the wall. Price is a big factor because you can get less "space" and less utility for twice the money. In the meantime I've installed a lot of these things and they are fairly forgiving of "approximate" hole cutouts and are easy to align, clean and live with if you've done everything right. However, the quality is lower than desired and there are too many "moving parts". These are tiny screws…
