This is a great basic monitor. It lacks the extra features of the pricier models, like USB ports, HDMI, or panning support, but I think it's a good deal for the price. It's huge, light weight, good looking and has a great screen. The only thing annoying is the power button LED. As others have pointed out, it can be disabled when the monitor is on, but not when the screen is in sleep mode. The pulse duration is strange if you're used to Apple products. Here the light stays on for a few seconds and then quickly turns off in less than a second, as opposed to the gentle, gradual pulse that Macbooks have. I was thinking about buying E2414Hr. over Thanksgiving and saw this one and while I can't find any official confirmation I believe the Hx is just a newer Hr model (Hr launched in 2013; Hx launched in 2014). Don't be put off by the fact that Dell doesn't show Hx on their website - Hx and Hr appear to be identical in function (I've seen somewhere that they have different tilt ranges but can't confirm). .Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. If you're currently under 24 inches and considering an upgrade but don't want to spend too much money, get this monitor.
