Left is a standard engine product switch and right is a GM OEM switch. Although it is physically installed and electrically connected to the OEM switch, it electrically runs opposite the OEM switch so it will not work. The OEM switch is electrically closed when the plunger is pushed into the switch. Standard Motor Products' switch opens when the plunger is pushed into the switch. I only noticed this after the return period had passed, so I hope others can learn from this post.
