Review on Dreambaby Liberty Close Security Extension by Kristy Lamoreaux

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well in some cases

After installation it worked well. A three-year-old could probably crack it or figure out how to open the latch, but there's valuable time to intervene and enough protection for those just crawling. Although I can see that the manufacturer has worked hard on it. easier to install, it still wasn't easy. The second pair of hands really helps. It took some trial and error to figure out if we needed an extension cord. The extension itself was easy to add, although it connects to long metal cylinders that can easily fall out if you don't hold the gate upright. To attach the decals/mugs to the wall, I pulled out the screws and marked where they touched the wall. Please note this will not fit railings unless the railing is unusually high so you will need to install it after the railing is complete. We need walls that can be pushed open from either side. This means that the correct tension is achieved through trial and error. This also means you can't use them if you only have a wall on one side. Opening the gate takes some getting used to. You must be disciplined to close it. There's also a horizontal bracket *below* the gate, so you'll have to climb over it. This can be difficult if this gate is at the top of the stairs. The good news is that we were able to remove them, have the mugs glued to the wall, and then reattach them in minutes. This only matters if you are a temporary home for the youth.
