Review on Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro True Wireless Earbuds: Astria Coaxial Acoustic Architecture, In-Ear Studio Performance, 8-Hour Playtime, HearID EQ, Wireless Charging by John Benjamin

Headset with huge potential wasted due to powerful bass.

Introduction I do my best to keep my expectations in check when evaluating the sound coming from these headphones. I paid $160 and for that price and under I could get a pair of good headphones from companies that focus solely on audiophile products like Sennheiser or HIFIMAN that would sound much more accurate and would be much, much nicer overall. However, these are in-ear headphones with Bluetooth. This is clearly not going to give you the true, reference-quality audiophile experience that over-ear headphones can. So if that's what you're looking for, Anker hasn't made it in this form factor yet. The sound of "The 10 Grammy Guys Endorsed Them" can be misleading. One might expect (and I certainly had hopes) that behind all that studio quality PR jargon they would at least sound as neutral as possible. The description says the drivers deliver "amazing power" in these things, and to be honest, yes, they're pretty damn strong when it comes to bass. Tinnitus at high volume and too loud at low volume. The bass itself isn't distorted, but I find it too front and wide, and songs with heavy bass lose too much detail in the mids and highs. However, it does have the benefit of being fun to listen to songs with lower bass levels. You might also find them funny if you are a bass player and need wireless headphones. Not a great start, but they actually have a lot of potential if Anker is really trying to capture the growing mobile audiophile market. Again, these are truly wireless headphones, so I'm not expecting much. Definitely on the plus side (hehe), these things have pretty smooth highs and I think the mids are just perfect. Big. Not too front or set back for my liking, and it has lots of detail. The soundstage is the only thing that really impressed me about these headphones. Surprisingly good width for this form factor. I felt the same about the picture as it wasn't difficult to make out the arrangement of the instruments and the different sounds in the songs I was hearing. I used them primarily for music, not calls, but as someone who doesn't use the phone a lot it's still noticeable that my calls were clear and all outside noise was acceptably reduced. By now you can feel that these headphones aren't too shabby in the audio department. Maybe too expensive, but not too shabby. Depending on your ears, you may find them very interesting to listen to. I never thought I would hate the sound of these headphones. Comfort My ears usually hate in-ear headphones. These fit out of the box. There are a large number of tip and wing sizes so I am sure that with the right size you will most likely get them deep in. I usually stop moving when the music is playing and they don't fall out. I probably leave them on for an hour or less each time no matter what activities I use them for and they haven't caused any pain yet. However, they don't stick out of your ears very attractively. When I look at myself in the mirror, they look like earbuds that aren't fully in my ear. At least they are smaller than I expected! Practicality The headphones hold a charge well, as does the case itself. I'm actually very grateful that the case is compatible with wireless charging as it doesn't seem like a common feature among headphone cases at the moment, even with pricier alternatives. It's a surprisingly handy feature that saves me the hassle of reaching for a cord. But if you're looking to add another to your ever-growing packaging collection, I love the outer packaging material. The box is colourful, has a good weight and is larger than it should be. If you're looking for something that sounds casually good and you're on the go, 99% of the time they'll get the job done to your satisfaction. They sound significantly better than Airpods and aren't far off the price tag. I had a better connection compared to him. If you're looking for something closer to the reference-class wireless headphone dream, or if you're trying to find a compact option for mixing songs on the go, these don't fit the bill. While I might be spoiled for headphone use, these in-ear headphones made me conclude that Bluetooth headphones have enough soundstage and imagery to end up being an acceptable replacement. If Anker spends a little more time tweaking the sound, they can dominate. But I could probably say that with any of the many companies just entering the TWS headset market. Until then, stay tuned to the sale.
