Review on Insignia NS-DXA1: Advanced Digital to Analog TV Tuner Converter Box for Regular TV Sets by Ryan Turner

Insignia NS-DA1 Digital to Analog TV Converter Box

This is the best of the three different brands of converters I've had. Apex was the first. He never received the two channels I thought he should have received. After the warranty expired, the RF (coax connection) stopped working. I worked for a year and a half and then stopped working altogether. The next one I got was Coby. The Coby's remote had to be pointed directly at the box to use it, but it had two channels which the Apex didn't, but I lost the other three channels! So I immediately took it back to the hardware store where I bought it. I saw this particular brand of Insignia on Revain, it had great reviews, but it cost $110. Bought a used one from someone through Revain for $47 including shipping. After setting it up and programming it, I found that with a little tweaking to my internal Terk antenna, I could get all the channels the previous two units only had a portion of, and the remote control over more features like zoom and different ratios features , among other things. and don't need to point directly at the box to work. The only downside is that the program listings are only shown for the channel they are tuned to and that was the only good thing about Apex, you could scroll through the program guide which showed all the channels. I bought mine used but if it lasts a year I'll be happy.
