After receiving a notice from the Local water department about extremely high lead content in our supply I began researching filtration systems. Having a newborn in our house I felt this would be extremely important to address ASAP. Based on all the information I could find online, Walmart reviews, and YouTube videos I decided to purchase this system. It provided a great value for the money, It addressed all the concerns I had removing lead and heavy metals, and the installation process is extremely simple. I have plumbed the majority of my own home for the past three years using pex Systems. The only issue that I experienced with the install was the same as noted in a few other reviews where the fittings for the inlet and outlet with a fully bottom out and yet still leak. I did use an adequate amount of paper tape per the instructions however I do not recommend using pipe tape. I found a product from a company called Megaloc multi-purpose thread sealant. This product uses fibers from Kevlar. Once I reinstalled my fittings with this product everything is absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with concerns of lead or heavy metals.
