Great Pants: Protection

These are phenomenally great motorcycle pants. I have no idea how they can sell them for the price and stay in business. I am looking for a replacement for my Olympia XMoto pant which sells for $350 and it comes very close. They have some nice design touches. The waistband is high, which is convenient for supporting the weight of the pants. The front closes with a snap button closure while the sides fit snugly into a Velcro waist belt. The front hip slits are large and look very functional. I'm not sure motorists will see the opening's bright yellow outline, but it looks good. It appears to be a quality design, even without the threads sticking out. Customization: This is where I think some improvements could be made. I wear pants in 34-36 inches, that's what I ordered. They sit well in the seat in jeans, but trying to get your legs into the HWK pants is difficult. And the zipper only goes up to the shinbone and not along the entire side of the leg. Some motorcycle pants are only meant to be worn over underwear, so I tried them that way. The feet feel comfortable, but okay. However, the hip area is then too large. You may have had different experiences with a different size. It was close 34-36. My advice: think of them as motorcycle pants to replace your jeans and order a waist size smaller than you normally wear. In this form they would be great. I had a concern about knee pads. When my legs are bent, the armor is not centered on my knee. Will it be effective in a collision? Maybe there were some adjustments, but I didn't notice them.
