Review on πŸ–ŠοΈ Optimized DELETER Trial Pen Set by Jennifer Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for Beginners

I wanted to try my hand at the G-Pen so I bought this set as it is quite affordable. I usually work with brushes, so using the G pen was refreshing. First, I had more control over the sketch lines. So far I've only used the G-pen, but it worked flawlessly with the paper I used (Strathmore Sketchbook & Bristol and Canson XL Bristol). Things I would like to know before buying this set: The nibs that come with the set are named Maru, G and Saji (I can't read Japanese) - Works well with ink (I use Higgins brand) - my experience after. - I also used the Yasumoto Sumi but found it a little too thick for the G spring but take my experience in disbelief it might work for someone else. Ink (Canson XL at a fairly reasonable price). Expect possible bleeding and some fibers sticking to the tip of your pen when using it on regular sketchbook paper - although this can vary depending on the brand and how hard you can press. The Zebra Comic G model tips seem to fit the grip fairly well, although they are slightly shorter than the Nikko brand that came with the set. I've attached 3 drawings for this review: 1. Frankie (pistol): Drawn by G-nib and Sumi-ink in Bristol. Doable, but it was a struggle. 2nd and 3rd choppers (barrels): G spring and India, on Bristol. It was a smooth and enjoyable drawing experience!
