Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Park Tool CM-25: Advanced Chain Scrubber Tool for Professional Use by Roman Starr

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A big improvement over a plastic tool for frequent use.

This was purchased for a bike co-op that has many users for general maintenance including chain cleaning among many other things. We have a couple of Park Tool plastic chain cleaners (both cm5 and cm5.2) and found them to be a little less reliable than we would like. This is a relatively new offering and after seeing it pop up in a few places I thought we should have one and I definitely wanted to take advantage of it myself. As expected, the tool is made of very durable metal and I have no doubts that the case will last for many years. The design is very nice and this tool does its job well. In particular, very little solvent precipitates during use. Now two things I didn't like. First, while the cartridge pad/brush system is very good, the absorbent foam pads still tend to fly away. Second, the handle doesn't fit the device exactly. The documentation mentions a cap screw on the handle that was pressed against the body, but the resulting device had only a small bolt protruding from the handle at either end, which had no head to turn it. I believe this could be a bug/defect and I will likely order another pen directly from Park.
