I can always tell gold plated well, so I don't want to say it looks like pure gold, but it's a good plate. No bright yellow color and no dirty look. I saw a review from someone with a photo of a heart instead of a letter and tried to find it in the options but for some reason I couldn't find it. We'll find out that it actually goes both ways! There's a heart on one side and your chosen letter on the other, which is such a lovely addition! The pendant is very well made, clear details, shiny smooth surface. I'm not that great with chains, I'd prefer a clasp chain or a flat snake chain, but steel chains are affordable here so I'm planning on getting one for hanging. This is a well made necklace and it is adjustable which is great! I recommend this chain!
