The lamp arrived in perfect condition but as mentioned the design has changed. The power control is a brass knob at the top of the lampshade instead of a rocker switch at the base. It looks good, but it's less convenient to get to. Also, the cord that carries power from the base to the lamp is a fabric-covered cord that's too long to fit the lower arm neatly into the round angle adjustment mechanism next to the base. I ordered two lamps and both had the closed part of the cord about 2 inches longer. I had to roll it up to fit, you can't shorten it by pulling the excess into the base (unlike the top, the cord was just long enough to connect the shoulder to the bottom. The included LED light is very bright This lamp is good for directional light but not suitable for illuminating the room, all the light is focused downwards opaque lampshade The lamp looks high quality, the parts are heavy, everything fits together well except for the cable.
