Must buy! Computer Accessories and Peripherals

I researched these speakers for a long time before finally deciding to buy them. I'm glad I did. These are by far the best speakers for your computer or MP3 player. Don't let the price fool you, these are incredible sounding speakers. Edifier's Exclaim e10 is well packaged and includes speakers, stereo mini plug cable, speaker cable and power socket. Despite the quirky look, they look well made and the bottom is lined with felt (nice). The low frequency drivers are encased in a molded rubber ball and the main drivers are encased in a metal material. The connection was easy and fast. I connected the e10 to my Retina iMac and opened iTunes. All my music is in MP3 format at 320kbps, converted from 24-bit FLAC files. The first was Whitney Houston's beautiful song "I Will Always Love You". The e10 has incredible clarity, capturing Houston's vocals so clearly you can almost hear her breathing during the first part of the a cappella. Alicia Keys was next, If You Don't Catch Me. Again, the e10 reproduced Keys' powerful and emotional vocals flawlessly with no sweat. Here the e10 showed how the lack of a subwoofer affects bass composition. My Creative Inspire T3130 speaker system with subwoofer easily picked up deep, inward bass. The E10s couldn't quite match here, but with a small tweak to the EQ window, the bass was reasonably tight and paired with crisp mids and highs. If you like belly-crushing bass, you'll have to skip these speakers. But clarity! Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools" was next and e10 was delivered again. The guitar crack at the beginning was so clear it felt like it was right in front of me! The bass was good, tight and balanced. Aretha's singing was loud and clear in all its glory, with no distortion. Wow! Okay, now to classic rock. The next test was The Woman with a Black Heart by the Allman brothers. Heavy instrumentation with bright guitars by Dwayne Allman and Dicky Betts and a powerful drum solo - it was a test! BAMM! E10 delivered. Dwayne Allman's guitar sounded clear and undistorted from the speakers, while Gregg Allman's breathy vocals were loud and clear without conflict. The drum solo and congas sounded spectacular with clear stereo separation. Finally little Stevie Wonder with his funky "Higher Ground". Here the e10 had no trouble reproducing rhythmic bass and Stevie's vocals sound nice and clear. These speakers can get you going! So what's my final verdict? If you're looking for better-sounding, near-audiophile computer speakers, no problem: get them now! If you prefer heavy bass and boomy sound, buy Creatives, Bose, or another alternative. But it's incredible value. I would pay $200-$300 for these babies, but $75? I am buying another set for my wife!
