I've been using it for a while with no problems and the top speed I've driven was just under 60mph. I was worried someone would just take the trunk off my car as the straps don't go under the trunk or anything but nothing has happened yet. You can use rubber bands to tie the bike and tires together, or I just use the extra length of the bands to tie everything together. It's probably not the "right" way, but it works for me as I don't go too far and I don't go very fast. The inner belt set is pretty close to the car so you can get scratches if you're not careful.
