Our ice maker isn't currently working (a notorious Samsung ice maker problem) so we needed a way to store the ice trays in the freezer drawer under the French Door refrigerator without food crumbs getting on the ice. I used a large inexpensive storage container with a lid (which happened to be the right length for the depth of the freezer drawer) to use as an ice basket on one side of the drawer and just placed these ice trays next to it. When the ice bucket is empty I just fill it up and then refill those bowls so it's spare ice. My freezer drawer is deep enough that I can put two more trays on top of the three I have, so I ordered two more. The tray lid prevents water from spilling when I tip them to put them in the drawer. It took me several times to fill them up before realizing that once filled the silicone lid can be sealed and then - hold the lid with the palm of your hand. -- Tilt it slightly into the sink to pour the water over the edge of the trap. Once this is done, nothing will spill! Contrary to some reviewers, I haven't noticed any bad smell or taste from the bowl or ice cream after a few months of use. Ice trays - the ice sometimes breaks when I rotate the tray to loosen it and pieces get stuck in the tray. I just use some warm water to remove them before filling them up with cold water. This doesn't happen in most cases, so it's not a problem.
