Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beautiful, powerful, lightweight laptop

Okay, this is my second device, but it's nice and everything works right out of the box. For me, the Revain had a roughly 10-inch tear diagonally across the display when I opened it up right out of the box and turned it on. I've seen plenty of videos of reviewers throwing these LG Grams down concrete stairs, bouncing and tumbling. and then they pick it up and it turns back on and works. So it was clearly some kind of manufacturing defect that LG had eluded. CURRENTLY. That's why I love Revane. because I immediately contacted support to request an exchange and they immediately allocated me a new unit that shipped the next morning. No fuss, no fuss. just the usual excellent customer service from Revain. However, this only works if the item is being sold by Revain and not a third party. that's why I always look for Revain when buying expensive electronics. I only directly from Revain, not third parties. On a secondary device that works and is ideal for crafting and decorating. Device switched on and the now famous Windows 10 configuration and process dialog immediately came up. It only took a few minutes and then everything was ready to go. He ran a number of driver updates and OS updates to bring it up to date, all error free and almost transparent to me, except that after a reboot he had to log in after hours to get the OS updates online bring. a moment to comment on the packaging of the LG device. The packaging is very compact, very smooth, but at the same time perfect protection of the device during transport. LG has an excellent packaging design team, and the same goes for the packaging the product ships in. AC adapter, power cord for the device, and multi-page quick start guide. Everything else is on the device itself. The battery was about 70% charged when I received it, so I could immediately see the machine reaching its full potential. and in what. It draws a lot of current from the small power adapter, so the bottom of the laptop and the power adapter get hot while the battery is charging. But once the battery is fully charged, everything cools down. So keep in mind that the adapter will get warm when the battery is charging. There may be some setting tweaks to slow loading speeds, but I haven't delved into LG's dedicated apps and features to manage the computer yet. The keyboard is fantastic in the 2021 LG Gram range, as is the new trackpad design. (although I prefer to use a mouse most of the time) and it's reasonably functional and readable if you're using a trackpad. While audio isn't typically an LG Gram's forte, I have to say that the sound system in 2021 is an improvement over previous years' models. Overall, LG seems to be on a consistent path of making LG Grams better and better every year. It's still amazing how a 16 inch laptop can be so light, thin and yet so solidly built. I was a bit skeptical about the new aspect ratio (16:10) of the 16-inch screen (like Apple), but now I'm sure. Plenty of screens in a form factor that's actually a bit smaller than LG Gram's 15-inch models of years past. Time will tell how this laptop holds up in the long run, but whether LG's reputation for its Gram line is any indication. it will have a long and reliable life. After all, the LG Gram doesn't have any moving parts apart from the keyboard and display hinge. Everything else is rock solid. Memory is soldered to the board (a requirement for the new generation of RAM that comes with 11th Gen Intel processors) and there's a 1TB SSD. Fortunately, LG doesn't load its Grams with many viruses. In my view, the only programs that should be removed from the computer immediately should be the McAfee LiveSafe 30-day trial (I prefer a tandem combination of Windows Security and Malwarebytes Premium) and the Office 365 trial (I prefer a licensed copy Office installed on my computers, not in Office 365). Also, everything looks neat and clean on the factory disk image. I plan to run the machine next week to make sure early on there are no component issues and then I will transfer the files from my old drive. Computers to it and expect it to be entirely on the new LG Gram from then on.
