Excellent island ventilation! Installation was very easy. It requires two people but I found it easy. I attached it to a ceiling joist so I cannot vouch for the included ceiling mounting kit and its durability. The suction works well, even on a low setting. Fan noise is normal. Everyone here complains that it sounds like an airplane and has never been on an airplane and doesn't know much about hood vents (I build and fix). This device is comparable to most other devices. Also, here is another video review with the TV playing in the background. you didn't install correctly. It knocks terribly. You have either fastened/installed the device incorrectly or your motor is not fastened in the housing. Also, a minor complaint that I've seen in other reviews is that the watch only displays military time. This is not true as the clock on my device shows 12 o'clock. Maybe they changed the program since then, but as you can see in the video I shot it at 4pm and in the evening. Overall this is a 4.5 star device, especially considering the price.
