Review on 🧢 Lacis Jumbo Yarn Ball Winder: Efficiently Manage Your Yarn with Ease! by Barbara Simmons

Wonderful! I don't know why I waited so long.

later Being very mechanical, I found the assembly instructions sufficient when I looked closely at the photos. However, instructions for winding the yarn were missing. Here are some tips after you've wound about a dozen skeins of a variety of threads. Tie a small knot before pinning it to the end of the thread on the spindle. This will help pull the inside end towards the bottom of the ball.2. SLOWLY wind the yarn. PERIOD.3. If you are winding regular store-bought thread (like JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby's), PULL FROM THE CENTER OF THE RAG.4. When winding, be careful not to wind the thread too tightly around the spindle. If needed, pull out a few yards of loosely draped yarn, and then continue winding. Don't waste time winding up a regular red heart. It turns out a dirty ball. If it's a small project, you can wrap something as small as 4 or 5 oz. Also, smaller finished balls of yarn are preferable to a giant ball. I split the 250 skein into two finished skeins and was much happier. I also keep the finished balls in freezer bags. I write the information on the white label on the bag and then leave the strand packaging in the bag.6. Be sure to invest in Swift tablecloth. I know this makes it easier to unwind yarn that gets tangled too easily. I don't have it yet but it will be my next purchase.7. If you have a retractable kitchen cutting board, a ball winder would be ideal.8. TAKE YOUR TIME! Leave if it bothers you.9. Allow the yarn to flow through your hand before it enters the bobbin. I catch the driftwood before they go through the first thread guide.10. PLEASE NEVER FORCE THE REWINDING MACHINE. I can see how some winders can break so quickly!11. It doesn't get the full 5 stars because I had to file down some of the edges of the bottom spindle to screw it onto the base. A small thin rasp got the job done quickly. I chose not to exchange it as it was a very easy fix. 12. Last tip, if the winding handle gets caught on the plastic part that attaches the roll to a table, extendable cutting board, etc. move it around until it no longer snags, or find another surface to attach it to! My favorite spot is the pull-out cutting board in the kitchen, and I put my original ball of yarn in a plastic laundry basket. I can pull a few yards of yarn and it won't touch the ground. ;-) PLEASE NEVER FORCE THE WINDING MACHINE. I can see how some winders can break so quickly!11.
