At first I really liked this spatula

At the beginning I really liked this spatula. The old-school basic fins are gone, so look for these newer composite fins. My last spatula had problems with egg whites sticking to the rim of the spatula which can cause serious problems when trying to cook food in a pan. . But with this spatula it works perfectly, doesn't stick to the surface at all. It's pretty smooth. I liked it so much I was considering buying it for everyone at work for Christmas. But I noticed an odd taste in my eggs and omelettes. At first I thought the diced peppers and onions I had frozen in the freezer were burnt from the frost, but then I still noticed that odd taste. Then I thought maybe the eggs were old, or maybe the oil was in the pan too long. But butter would be delicious on bread. I tried a spatula one day and thought I might try there. But I thought it seemed to me. Then my wife bought silicone egg molds and BAM, same weird taste was there but even stronger. I googled this problem and others are reporting the same problem with silicone utensils. Some describe it as a "soapy taste". To me it's just a weird taste. Now I'm back to some of my old spatulas that don't work but don't give that weird taste either. I'm sorry but it scares me when I can get a strange taste from kitchen utensils. Someone else?
