Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets

With so many bad reviews of oven thermometers, I kinda thought this one would be different. After all, why should such a simple gadget be such a complex acquisition? Look closely at the enlarged image of the dial. "Woodfield CT USA" is clearly written on the underside. That alone was a major selling point for me. But this turned out to be another Chinese junk. The watch that arrived today did not have "Woodfield CT USA" on the dial, but instead had a "Made in China" sticker on the underside of the base. There are actually other notable differences between what I received and what is pictured, most notably the different markings on the dial and the poorly designed hanging hook. Maybe the two positive reviews above are from people made in the US before this company started buying junk from China. Now for what really matters; It constantly reads 50+ degrees too hot. (Luckily I have two old and reliable Springfield thermometers) The back cover looks like a piece of swiss cheese with 7 holes drilled in it which practically opens it up and reveals the thermostat coil. A really bad idea as the coil is prone to oven grease and you don't dare accidentally expose it to water when you need to clean it. The only saving factor is Revain's customer service for returns. bottom line; grossly misrepresented so don't waste your time and money.
