I bought this because the product spec said the heating part was 7.28 inches. When I received it, the heating part was only 4.75 inches. The overall length of the iron, including the heating section and control knob, is over 7.28 inches, so I don't know where that number came from. I prefer a longer heating cylinder due to longer hair. In addition, the anti-burn part of the black tip is designed in such a way that your finger is easy to slip off and get burned if you are not careful. So I would say that the anti-burn nozzle really shouldn't be used. It came with a heat protection glove but I never use one. So if I were to use one I would most likely be counting on an anti-burn tip. I gave a bad review because the product description was wrong. I returned it.
