Review on Panasonic NN-SN766S Stainless Steel Microwave Oven - Countertop/Built-In with Inverter Technology and Genius Sensor, 1.6 Cubic Foot Capacity, 1250W Power by Everette Jean

Poorly designed power control

This Panasonic microwave oven has an extremely inconvenient and annoying method of adjusting the cooking power. With every other microwave I've owned in the last 20 years, all you have to do is press the power button and enter a number from 1 to 10 (corresponding to 10% to 100% full power). Panasonic engineers couldn't seem to figure out this simple system. Adjusting the Panasonic's power requires pressing the power button a few times to cycle down to the lower levels. For example, if you want to cook at 20% power, you need to press the button 9 times. Not only is it clunky and unergonomic, but also consider the wear and tear of the buttons over time. The keyboard will probably fail first. If this microwave didn't have this flaw I would give it 4 stars. It has about the same features and functions as my previous microwaves in this price range.
