Review on Bike Tire Repair Ratchet Wrench by Peter Zouhair

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Really cool idea but has some limitations

This is a nifty tool but I feel like the designer tried to pack in too much without thinking about it or knowing what mountain bikers really are to need. I admit the ratchet is pretty neat and works as intended. I'm not sure how much torque it can handle, but it seems to handle the relatively low torque required to tighten the bolts on my bike. The tire levers themselves are also solid and well made and will definitely help you along the way if you ever have to change a tire. The bits that come with it are useful sizes, and it's really nice to get a T25 torx, too. The problem is that since the bits are small (because they have to fit in the tool) they don't reach far enough to reach some of the main bolts on the bike. . For example, due to the shape of the caliper, I couldn't reach any of the bolts that hold the caliper, either front or rear. I couldn't get to the ICSG05 bolts behind the rear sprocket either. My "standard" multi-tool can get to every bolt on my bike and includes a chain breaker which is a pretty useful tool that this one lacks. Wrenches are pretty much useless, there's nothing on a bike that requires open ended wrenches. It was so close to being a great tool, but lacking in my opinion.

Pros
  • 14 tools in one
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
