To be honest we've had a lot of dogs over the years and we usually change leashes at this time. Before that I literally never had a line break. I am extremely disappointed in this leash as not only did it break, it broke catastrophically. We bought this leash less than two years ago to walk our new pup. To give you an idea, our dog is a 45 pound mix. Most of the runs we do, he stays by our side for most of the race because that's how he's been trained. We took him out a few days ago, just like every other day. Unfortunately something scared him in this race and he ran ahead of us. We tugged on the leash to bring him back to us, which we usually do without much fanfare. Not today! On this particular day, the leash exploded into many different bits and pieces. It was made in such a way that we had to get creative to put it all together so we could still return home on a leash. We liked this leash because it's long enough but not too long and comfortable to walk on. , a little springy etc but unfortunately the metal they used for this leash is substandard at best as the circumstances we were in and the picture attest… Glad we still have a dog/he is didn't get far because of that! Obviously we bought two packs so we could at least use the other one and were looking for something that could be a little more durable but honestly runs just as well as our dog, and combined with the fact that it only weighs 45 pounds (a lot less than the 120 pounds). line is laid out), this should never have happened. I highly recommend not buying these leashes if you have a medium or even larger sized dog as they will eventually break.
