From the description I assume it is chrome plated and durable. The package arrived in a brushed nickel finish and I could live with that. However, the strength meant that the regiment had a lot of lateral movement due to unstable slip joints when fully assembled according to the instructions. Not like the similar brand Costco, which is rock solid.
