I love this little camera! I shoot with a Canon 60D with a variety of lenses and have also used an iPhone 5 (8MP) camera a lot over the past year, but I've been thinking about buying a quality compact (P&S) camera with a hot shoe and shooting. RAW. However, the $500+ price tag for the ones I was considering was off. After hearing so much about Micro 4/3 mirrorless cameras, I decided to look into it. When I saw that I could buy this Olympus PEN E-PL3 (Silver) for only $259, my decision was made! I got what I was looking for and more: an interchangeable lens camera with incredible customization options, a larger sensor (=better resolution) than P&S, a hot shoe, RAW capability, a small and light camera but easy to handle. I'm a little concerned that I'm buying a camera model that's two years old and two new models in this line have already come out, but I don't need to worry about that. While experience has shown that images aren't great at ISO 1600 and above (but I'm still learning how to get the most out of this camera!), I'm otherwise very happy with the image quality and sharpness. And unfortunately I already am - after only owning the camera for a week! - Fancy other lenses for him! However, I am satisfied with the field of view that the 14-42mm kit lens gives me. I'm also very pleased to see that I can use my old Canon lenses with my new PL3. I bought a cheap adapter with the camera which allows me to take a 50mm f/1.8 (FD) lens from my old (1972) Canon FTb camera as well as any other FD lenses I can buy cheap , can assemble. After that success, I decided to order a more expensive ($115) adapter so I could also use the small collection of Canon EF lenses I now use with my Canon 60D. Haven't received it yet but am curious to see how these lenses perform with the PL3. I document my experience in [.]
