After searching the internet for speakers to fit the Element doors and after purchasing a pair of Pioneer speakers which were said to fit - they will fit if the grilles are removed, I finally decided to try this. Have you looked at many speakers that say they fit, but when you look at the photos you still have doubts that they fit? So, let me say that this is done absolutely flawlessly. You can't use the original screws or screw holes, but the case is thick enough to accommodate new screws. Simply remove the grille, remove the old speaker, hold the new speaker as close as possible to the center of the hole in the case, mark the hole, drill, install those speakers and reinstall the grille. You'll need to cut off the old plastic tabs on the speaker casing and part of the door frame - this takes 15 seconds at most with a razor. These speakers sound amazing and fit in the back doors just as well. I'm not sure if I would be able to get speaker wire adapters that would fit into the original speaker terminals and then connect to aftermarket speakers. Also, be very careful when connecting the cables to the speakers and don't put too much pressure on the connector covers on the speaker bosses, as you might break them. When connecting the wiring, support the speaker tabs with your finger from below. The total time for installing 4 such speakers is about an hour. Highly recommended.
