After all the reviews I thought this would be the perfect toaster. The problem is that it isn't. The left side cannot be opened at all. You not only don't hear "pop", you don't see it either. The springs don't seem to be enough to lift the toast/bread/basket all the way. However, they tend to overdo it. If you can't hear it, don't take it out of the toaster. Then they keep cooking. Then why 5 stars? it's good enough If you're looking for a 4-slice toaster that delivers consistent results, look no further. And did I mention it's cheap?!
