I like the variety of lights (different colors or plain warm white) and the various cycles the lights complete. For instance, I can set it at steady white, pulsating colors, bright to fade, mixing white and colors. There are 7 different settings. I don't use the timer remote because the branches are in an area that I don't use all day long. Also, please note that no holder or vase comes with this product, even though one is shown in the photographs. I can't comment on the battery life except to say it has lasted throughout this holiday season. I enjoy this "tree" and its tiny lights which brighten up any room.
