Review on Enhanced Viper 5806V 2-Way Security System with Remote Control by Danny Kamerer

I made a terrible decision to buy this. I spent over $500 for the kit plus installation. My local car audio/alarm shop did a great job with the installation - the problem is with the product itself. Where to start? The first key fob stopped responding just a few months after using it. I then switched to an extra key fob, which worked decently for a few more months, but then stopped performing the lock/unlock/remote boot as quickly as expected. Not to mention that the key fob's batteries are drained every 3 months. Now the unlock button is completely broken and won't unlock at all. I have to open the door manually, which sets off the alarm (silent, I might add, because the buzzer no longer sounds an alarm). Then when I get in my truck, he holds me hostage until I press the right number of times on a receiver mounted on the windshield. I still have no idea how many button presses, all I have to do is hold the button and turn the key from ACC to ON until the truck finally starts. What a waste. It was nice to have remote start and a sensitive alarm while it lasted. I go back to the OEM Toyota key fob with my head down and a hole in my pocket. Seriously, save your money.
