Good alarm clock. Works well with old cars.

Alarm instructions are difficult to read unless you are familiar with the wiring diagrams. Don't waste your time. Just pay to install it. If your car key has a chip, you need an additional module. Works well with my 1999 Honda Civic.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Works great with manual transmission.

Remote start is great. But the pit stop mode is cool! You can leave your car running when it's locked so you can quickly take something from home or save it. Features a smart pre-remote start sequence that can even be activated on an MT car, so you don't have to worry about hitting a button when your parked car is on and sees it rolling. You cannot activate the remote start when in gear unless it is in gear when the car is locked.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Upgradable

Works but battery is slow

A few years later and it still works. The only thing I don't like is the need to replace the batteries in the 2-way LED like clockwork every 8-9 months. Even then, the range with new batteries is as stated, ie line of sight. As the battery life decreases, so does the range. I've read about an LCD remote with terrible battery life so I can't even imagine how much worse it is compared to 8-9 months of battery life.

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Wow, I regret buying this alarm clock. .

Wow, sorry I bought this alarm clock. A two-way remote with a claimed 1-mile range? I don't think so, maybe try 200ft. The two-way remote kills overnight with a new set of batteries from 2016. There are no installation instructions, just a vague description of each connector. For do-it-yourself installation even the 'advanced' user manual available online is useless but apparently intentional because Directed Electronics wants ONLY 'authorized dealers' to install these alarm systems. Calling…

Good unit. Difficult installation

The installation was painful because it is not so easy to find wiring diagrams on the net to check everything. I actually opened the box and delayed the installation for a few months because of it. The manual in the box is only useful if you know exactly what you're doing and what kind of wires you need and if those wires are + or - and creatures that are versatile. I found there was an absurd amount of cables I wasn't aware of. actually not necessary. I used 6 of the 24 pin harnesses. But it's

VERY COOL COMPLEX SYSTEM - READ THE COMMENTS

Very complex system. The seller delivered very quickly, the price is good. Well, with that being said, I was not at all happy with the documentation for installing the remote boot part of the system. The weak amp module's I/O is crystal clear in the documentation, but the remote start connections are intentionally vague and almost useless. I had to use the command alert systems to get more details on how to install the Viper system. THIS IS IMPORTANT WHEN INSTALLING THE REMOTE START PART ON THE

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Quality

I made a terrible decision to buy this. I spent over $500 for the kit plus installation. My local car audio/alarm shop did a great job with the installation - the problem is with the product itself. Where to start? The first key fob stopped responding just a few months after using it. I then switched to an extra key fob, which worked decently for a few more months, but then stopped performing the lock/unlock/remote boot as quickly as expected. Not to mention that the key fob's batteries are…

Many, many, many connections

I haven't finished the installation yet, but I have to say that it takes a lot of work if you are new to this type of installation. You MUST be able to follow wires and circuits and understand relay concepts. All you need is a general understanding of electronics. I am installing it on a Corvette 81 with power locks and power windows. Connecting a remote start, although this is difficult for cars with carburetors. A detailed instruction manual isn't included in the box, but a Google search…
