Many, many, many connections

I haven't finished the installation yet, but I have to say that it takes a lot of work if you are new to this type of installation. You MUST be able to follow wires and circuits and understand relay concepts. All you need is a general understanding of electronics. I am installing it on a Corvette 81 with power locks and power windows. Connecting a remote start, although this is difficult for cars with carburetors. A detailed instruction manual isn't included in the box, but a Google search might bring up a few results. The instructions for the 5701 have a good description of the same wires in this kit. DIRECTED also has an online installation guide for the 5906, 5706, 5806 and 5606 systems. Both should give you all the information you need to complete the installation. If you have electronics, know-how. Personally, I would advise giving it to the installer. EDIT: If you decide to install this yourself, here are a few pointers: 1) Use diodes on the door release wires with the cathode on the alarm side and the anode on the door switch side of the jamb. 2) If you encounter a programming problem where the alarm module and panel are not responding to the programming, disconnect the door release wire (green or purple) and ground it. Then the programming should work. I don't know why, but that's how it is. 3) After making some adjustments to the connection, for some reason I had to factory reset and then reprogram the alarm. A minimum of work, but I'm not exactly sure why that was necessary. The remote control does not require this step. 4) Only 10 relays were used in my setup; 4 for the door lock and engine switch, 4 for the automatic windows, 1 for the horn output and another one for my start button. 5) Create multiple accessible grounding points by drilling holes in the frame and inserting a screw/bolt, washers and nuts. 6) Obtain an automotive terminal/fuse block with about 10 circuits/terminals. The one I have has LED indicators on each circuit. Got it from Raven. This is great when you need multiple 12v channels. However, if you are using a wire that already has a fuse holder attached, you will need to remove the fuse holder by cutting it to get a straight wire. Otherwise if you leave it plug it straight into the positive post on the battery I thought I had a bad block but after much fiddling all the connections used work - well I haven't run the remote yet but I'm pretty sure sure that it will at least try to work. FYI: Insanity Sounds didn't respond to my email when I thought my block was bad.
