I am very sensitive to noise and although I was drawn to this one because others said it was quiet I didn't believe it but was hoping it was an improvement over our previous grinder would be . It's really quiet! It's not totally quiet or anything, but it's a significant step in the right direction. We mainly brew for French Press and use 2nd coarseness. I really wish it had more range on the rough end as we almost never worry about a noisy espresso machine again. I don't think it makes a huge mess - there's quite a bit of static electricity - but I think it's normal for any plastic grinder. Management is weird, it's measured in seconds and not in any form, but for me that's not a determining factor. Especially considering it's a lot quieter than the old one. The grind is perfectly consistent and appears to be very effective. I would like the funnel to be smoked or something to block the light. I've never stored beans in a coffee grinder but it's so convenient we left them there but now I'm wondering if the quality is dropping. We've had it for a few weeks now, no problems, and really enjoying the smooth process.
