I replaced it with my 9 inch polymer antenna as I recently moved, now I have a 2 hour commute to work and this was frustrating. In my old 1995 Toyota Camry, I was unable to get a consistent radio signal my entire drive because other signal boosting options were too expensive and/or impractical for such an old car. With this I simply unscrewed my old antenna (which wasn't original as I had replaced it with a cheap one about 15 years ago when the retractable antenna broke) and screwed it in. Light. Ready. Like it a lot! Significant improvement. You don't have the correct socket hardware, to install a screw on this antenna you may need to purchase additional hardware. In my case this wasn't an extra expense and the screw size seems pretty standard for most antenna connectors/jacks that are out there created in the last 15 years.
