Very happy with this device!

This device is amazing!. My mother has dementia and cannot control her television. She likes to watch the news at 12pm and 5pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends, but when I'm not working I can't always turn on the TV for her. Your TV isn't a smart TV, so I can't control it with the app. This device solved the problem. Wherever I am, where there is Wi-Fi or a cellular signal, I can control their TV. I just make sure that when I turn off the TV it's in the channel I want to turn on when it turns back on. (I have a camera at home, but it's not positioned where I can see the TV clearly enough to be useful.) But here's the best part. I don't have to manually turn the TV on and off with the app as I was able to program this device to turn its TV on and off at a set time. It is great. The instructions that come with it are not that good. In Tuya Smart App, press + icon, press "Other", select "Universal Remote Control". I think it was straight from there. It looks like I had to unplug the device once or twice to complete the setup. It's been about a month so I kind of forgot. (The manual says to choose a smart plug instead of a universal remote!) I'm including images, but unfortunately, due to the way Revain displays uploaded images, you probably won't be able to see the entire screenshot. Update: BTW you need a USB power adapter (like you would use for a cell phone). I was disappointed that this was not included. The cable is included in the scope of delivery. You might be able to plug it into a USB port on your TV, but I'm not sure. The device is in front of the TV. It also works well with my DVD player sitting on the shelf under the TV, not even in a straight line. Update #2 (September 2021): The reliability of this device has been criticized for the past six months. . About half the time the app says "offline" and I have to disconnect for 30 seconds before I can connect. It got so bad that I now plugged it into a smart outlet so I could turn it on and off without having to physically unplug it. I'm not sure if it's the device or my WiFi. (I changed my router around the time this problem started to appear.) Not knowing, I'm not giving any stars in my rating. At work I still love this device.
