Disappointed with short lifespan, with my 3rd pot!

I really liked this pot, but they are short-lived. The clear pot was my favorite. I used to have a black pot and a white one, but they seem to have dried up within a year. I never got an extended warranty because it was so cheap I didn't think it was a problem worth sending in for repair. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
