Very cute skirt! As you can see on the model, the belt doesn't hold it; It is a piece of jewelry that sits on or below the thighbones. The belt arrived folded, but the folds feel loose - you probably want the belt to loosen up before wearing it in public. THERE ARE sewn-in shorts which I didn't really want and it's not in the product description, but the skirt is so short I won't complain too much, but wearing tights can be awkward - I can cut it outside. The color is exactly the same as in the photos. Looks well made - time will tell.
