Plastic only, metal clip.
The biggest problem I have is the way they are described which led me to believe they are all metal. They're made of durable plastic, so they won't bend or warp. They are easy to use and do not disappoint. When used on curly hair (e.g. a beard) the hair tends to get caught and pulled which is painful. I'm not sure if they pull regular curly hair as everyone I pull them on has straight hair without my beard.
