I have had many belts and at least 6 in my drawer that are the old traditional style with a buckle and holes. I probably threw away a dozen prematurely due to wear and tear and weight changes. I have had belts where I had to add holes to either increase the size or adjust the belt to fit a smaller waist. I've used my drill on numerous stock straps to add holes for a better fit. I found this beautiful leather ratchet belt that fits around my waist. The first thought that came to me after using this belt was that now I will not go back to the old traditional style belt. I was also wondering why it took so long to come up with this simple idea! If you have always bought a traditional style belt, you should try this belt. Much easier to put on even without adjusting to which hole suits my current condition. With this belt, just put it on like you would a normal belt and thread it through the slot as usual, then just grab the buckle, grab the end of the belt and pull! You will hear it start to click and at the same time keep holding that notch until you pull harder to get a tight fit. This thing is just smooth, love it. I can easily tighten the strap at any time of the day by pulling on it. The belt simply moves to the next notch until you find the right fit. I just use the same belt for all occasions and can choose black, brown or both to match any pants. The style is very simple and I use it with my jeans too! The only belt I will buy is the type and maybe both colors and it will fit me. I'm losing weight and a ratchet strap is a must! I will throw away all my old traditional belts which I always bought in bulk to fit me. My waist is probably 42 inches now and I used the length of the belt exactly as it came out of the box. I have room to zoom in and out with the strap ratchet area. If you find that a lot of strap comes out of the buckle to fit your size, you can simply cut the strap at the square end as needed, put it back into the buckle and lock, that's it. Do not cut the end of the strap that goes into the buckle. Cut the square end, not the tapered end!
