I first used it to find studs and electrical wiring before installing metal shelving. It was very easy to find the studs as there is a light on each side and then a middle light when it's in the middle. Put the circle in the hole and you're done. Didn't miss a pin. Electrics were a bit more difficult. Accuracy here is not as tight as with spaced lugs. but if you understand how houses are built, you can get closer to the top. I found a spot that electrified four feet through the wall, which struck me as unusual. On the other side of the wall were two decorative fixtures with wires running along the studs. Problem solved. For the money this is a great option.
