My 5 year old 55" LG TV and receiver have burned out, apparently due to a power surge. I was so frustrated that I checked and found that both were plugged into a Belkin power strip/strip at the time. After filing a claim with Belkin and inspecting the extension cord, they determined that their extension cord was defective and wrote me a check for the written-off cost of the TV and receiver. Because of Belkin's support for their product, I have replaced all surge protectors/surge filters in my house with Belkin. Just make sure you take a picture of your receipts or put a copy in the cloud so you can find them when you need them. Also, I've learned that while a surge protector has a "lifetime" warranty, "lifetime" is the expected lifespan of the product, which isn't forever, just 4 or 5 years. So be sure to read the fine print and replace the strips when they expire. I can't say enough good things about Belkin and how they stood behind their product. Too bad most other companies don't do the same.
