Review on 🌱 Fluval Plant Care by Ruby Moya

I ordered this substrate after watching a video from an advanced aquascaping specialist and hearing his recommendation. I've used Fluorite Seachem in the past and although it was a good substrate I've also had armored catfish in my tank and Fluorite is spicy so I'm concerned about them as they are bottom feeders. I also felt it was lacking in terms of promoting plant growth. I completely cleaned my 10 gallons and added this new Fluval Plant substrate. I used an 8.8 bag and it was enough for my 10 gallons. I read reviews that it can't be rinsed out and since I didn't have anything that would make the process very easy I decided to just add it without rinsing. I carefully watered the substrate, adding just enough water to make planting easier, then as I added the water, I placed the plastic bag on top of the soil and carefully poured the water into the reservoir on top of the bag, a little at a time. It takes patience, but adding water this way has made the water in my aquarium crystal clear. No haze. The dark substrate really shows off my plants and fish. I will say the only downside is that some of my plants got separated from the soil and it was a little frustrating to put them back in, but that's the only downside I've encountered. It's too early to tell how my plants will react, but I'm expecting a lot after reading other reviews of people and their plants. If you have any doubts about the purchase, do it. Just take your time and be careful when adding water to the substrate and everything will go smoothly.
