Review on RYMEK Typewriter Style Mechanical Keyboard: Wired & Wireless, Tablet Stand, Bluetooth (Black) by Dan Worku

Nice idea electronics

Bought this off my Wishlist as an indulgent COVID purchase. Even with that promotion (no additional discount due to the pandemic), it was still about $150 before taxes and all. It's a nice idea, but I'll share what I liked and didn't like and why I decided to bring it back. I'll also try to answer some of the questions I've read and problems in other weird reviews and I hope the photos/videos help! (This is my first time adding a product review video or posting instructions!) (But it's not the first time I've used brackets!) I liked the style of the vintage typewriter, so I kept it on my wish list for a while . I love the phone/tablet stand, the fact that it can be backlit (or not) and that I can use it on an uneven surface like a pillow or blanket (because it's more durable than my other Bluetooth Keyboard). Look out for blue backlighting on vintage-style items, plastic keyboard cases, or plastic keys. In general, some feelings. cheap? Souvenir shop? It doesn't seem to adjust brighter-darker for the backlight. Caps Lock lights up when locked but is otherwise not visible. The Del and Power buttons aren't backlit, and it's not clear why that decision was made. Back Space beeps with each press. And to answer another question, it would be a bit noisy to use it in a public place like a coffee shop. Because it's not the late 90's and we don't use IBM. But if you brought an IBM to a coffee shop, this is what it would sound like. I use mine at home, it's not very convenient to carry around, although it sure would be dramatic. I wasn't a fan of the price range. I didn't feel I could justify $150-$200 for it. I could probably spend $50 on this and not feel guilty! It looks like nothing more than the usual selection of crappy Chinese-made recordings on Revain, even though it was once a crowdfunding project. And if you want to know how to change the backlight effect (e.g. turn it on or off permanently and stop dancing - or otherwise dance), use the Fn and Delete keys. The arrow keys only speed up or slow down the dancing light effect. It doesn't look like the backlight brightness is adjustable, despite what it says. I. something else! You probably won't find it under "MX 520" when pairing, but under "KnewKey". I would suggest searching for this item on Alibaba.

Pros
  • Built in tablet stand: easy and convenient to hold iPad and smartphone
Cons
  • It makes me angry
