Not bad, very effective if you replace the pad that comes with the filter thread. I have a 7.5 gallon cube and this thing is way bigger than I thought it would be. Takes up a lot of space in the back corner of my tank. But I don't plan on keeping it in the tank all the time. I will only use it when I start seeing a light film on the water surface. It's not aesthetic, just a personal preference. Overall this is a good affordable product that does what it's supposed to do. I wouldn't use it for more than a 15 gallon tank. Pros: - Works as intended - Quiet - Transparent body so you can see what's inside without having to take it apart. - easy installation and maintenance - adjustable flow rate Cons: - filter pad needs to be replaced (not a deal breaker) - not aesthetically pleasing in a nano planted aquarium - wire is a bit short - plastic material is not as strong as other brands When it comes to maintenance I would be with managed with care. But only time will tell if it holds up.
