Review on ๐Ÿš— Continental 7-Rib OE Technology Series Multi-V Belt - 89.2-inch by Jacob Richmond

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great belt but can still squeak if you have bad offset

I was dealing with a belt squeaking issue on my Grand Cherokee 5.2. I tried two Autozone Duralast straps and both started squeaking after about a month of use. I decided to try this belt because a lot of people highly recommend it. Although this belt started to squeak when heated, this belt is of very good quality. The REAL belt squeaking issue was a misaligned idler pulley (between the alternator and A/C compressor on 5.2 and 5.9 engines. This was due to a removed idler pulley bracket (probably a previously failed idler pulley) before I bought this car ).The belt is 100% quieter after replacing the sub-bracket. If you have one of these engines and the belt is squeaking from the tensioner, this could be a problem. It seems like the Gatorback is squeaking when your pulley system has serious misalignment, or your idler pulley (or any other pulley running behind the belt is crooked. I still give this belt 5/5 as it's a great product .For a reviewer who claims that this belt does not fit a 1996 Grand Cherokee 5.2 L V8, this belt fits mine very well.Be sure to follow the gasket pattern decal on the fan shroud properly.
