Review on MAXXIS Minion DHRII 3C Exo, Tubeless Ready, Foldable Tire by Josh Sharp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Incredible traction, durable construction!

I run all the mountain trails in Pennsylvania with lots of roots, loose rocks, big rocks and wet ground. The Continental X-King my bike came with had constant traction issues, resulting in accidents that shouldn't have happened. They were also very prone to flat pinching. Nothing is worse than sitting on the edge of a trail 3 miles from a hunting ground changing a busted pipe as the sunlight fades, except perhaps when my front end lost traction on a fast turn, causing me to wipe and damaged the front brake. lever arm. When I received the DHR II and opened the box I was amazed at how much thicker and stronger the construction of this tire was compared to the Conti which sidewalls feel like paper compared to the DHR II. Mounting the tire on my 29" rim was a breeze. I wanted to hit the road right away, so I didn't have time to convert it to tubeless, but I plan to. I knew I was in for a treat by simply... ran my hand over this tire. The compound is sticky and the tread is aggressive. I was on the trail an hour later and this tire was performing at its best! The rear end is stable and predictable on the descents and corners. Braking couldn't be better be - the tire cuts and gives great control on descents I can't wait to get DHF for the front so I can take turns, fast and my front end won't fall off me if you count the ounces of your bike , this tire is not for you.If you want durability and maximum traction on rough terrain, stop shopping and buy this tire! This is by far the most profound upd ate I made on my bike.
