Medium is snug but not embarrassingly tight like a hanging moose ankle or anything. I'm 5'10", 205 lbs, 10% BMI, 35" waist. My fit of these pants is similar to the model in the picture. I've played with the sizing but I'll actually be using it for running at the academy and didn't want the excess material to soak up all the sweat. It's fairly light cotton/polyethylene 30/70. Seems well done. Time will tell about the quality of the tailoring. If you are a fat woman, this style is not for you. You'll look ridiculous in your foupé muffin top dangling from your waist.
