The title says it all. This does a great job of removing stems from strawberries, although tiny stems can be completely hollowed out. It's easy to use and the blades are roughly stamped but made of steel. It's not that easy with large fruits like tomatoes because you'll have to make a few cuts or rotate the blade, but it can be done (not for cherry tomatoes - you'll just end up with an empty tomato skin). with a clear plastic tie to keep it closed but that tie is basically a piece of tape and not for long term use. There is no mechanism to keep the tool closed in the utensil drawer. It's not a feature.
